Registration Questions

I want to attend a Cursillo Weekend. Who do I talk to?
Often candidates for Cursillo have already been approached by a Cursillista that is ready and willing to sponsor them. If not, your parish should have a Cursillo representative. Talk to that person about your desire to attend a weekend, and he/she will match you to a sponsor, someone who has already attended a weekend and is active in their Fourth Day. If you don’t know your Cursillo representative, talk to your Rector.
You will need to have a sponsor as they are an important part of the process, and the application will ask for their name and contact info (email and phone).
The application will also ask for contact info for your Rector.
Online Application is easy:  just click the link on this page and fill in all the info requested.
You will receive immediate email feedback that you application is being processed, and soon after receive emails from the Registrar with more information.

How does the acceptance process work?
Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Currently, there is no limit on the number a parish can send. A maximum of 42 pilgrims may attend any one Campsite Cursillo.
Lakeside Meeting Center weekends are limited to approximately 18 pilgrims depending on cabin configurations which vary. Once accepted, the individual is sent a letter of acceptance and a map with directions to Camp Allen. The sponsor is sent a letter as well.

What should I know as a Rector before approving a candidate?
A candidate must be at least 18 years of age and a communicant in good standing of an Episcopal congregation.
Note: this is NOT required for InStep.
The candidate should be spiritually/psychologically stable and not suffering from any unusually stressful situation in their lives that would disrupt the orderly functioning of the weekend

What are my obligations as a sponsor?
As a sponsor, you must be available to take your candidate to Camp Allen Thursday (Friday for InStep) evening and pick them up on Sunday following the closing service.
You also are responsible for helping your candidate find a reunion group following the weekend and attend Ultreya with them if available.

What is Cost of the Weekend?
The cost for pilgrims for a Campsite weekend (November) is $125. The cost for pilgrims for a Lakeside Meeting Center or Conference Center weekend is $225. If funds are an issue, please contact us. Scholarship money is available.
